Loose Women star tells Denise Welsh ‘don’t shout at me’ amid fiery Meghan clash

TheLoose Womenpanel clashed when things went head-to-head between Denise Welch and Gloria Hunniford when discussing Meghan Markle on the show.

The pair got caught up in a heated chat on Tuesday's show (August 30) when Gloria demanded her ITV co-star Denise Welch not to "shout at her" as the panel – including Jane Moore and Brenda Edwards – discussed Meghan’s new tell-all interview with The Cut.

During the bombshell interview, Meghan opened up about her and Prince Harry’s new life in California, as well as speaking about the ins and outs of her relationship with her father Thomas Markle.

Speaking about the impact of their decision to step down as senior royal members, Meghan told the publication: "Harry said to me, ‘I lost my dad in this process’. It doesn’t have to be the same for them as it was for me, but that’s his decision."

Kickstarting the ITV debate, Denise explained how she was on the “Meghan Markle support wagon” and has been ever since the couple got together.

Denise said: "To live in a world where she is denigrated so badly every day, even when she was suffering incredibly mental health issues with a child, I don’t know how she survives sometimes."

Gloria joined in on the debate but was interrupted by Denise saying: "She wants privacy from unwanted attention."

However, Gloria then grabbed hold of her arm and snapped: “Don't shout at me! Just stop talking for one minute."

Gloria slammed: "I respected the fact that they wanted a bit of privacy, but now, privacy to me is you go to a different country and you do not do Oprah Winfrey, do every magazine, do all sorts of deals with Netflix…"

Though Denise added: "I disagree!"

Gloria then bit back: "No come on, there's no point shaking your head.

"But just let me finish! It's a point that she did tell some – what was discovered – as fibs, lies, whatever you want to call them, in that Oprah Winfrey interview…"

Denise argued: "What and the royal family have never told any lies or fibs either? I think there's some whoppers we're not allowed to talk about but anyway…"

Gloria responded with: "Hang on Denise, hang on, you've had your say. The thing is, I admire the Queen and I admire the Royal Family, and I just think Meghan undermines all the good work that she does by spinning out these lies…"

Denise then raised her voice and said: "The Queen supports Prince Andrew, Gloria! The Queen doesn't say a word about Prince Andrew!"

To which an offended Gloria stated: "See you can't do this without shouting."

The debate follows a tell-all interview Meghan gave to American magazine The Cut, where she spoke about her new life with Prince Harry and their two children – Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.

The interview takes readers on a tour through the couple's extravagant house in the exclusive Montecito neighbourhood and sees them give an insight into their lives after they stepped down from royal duties in 2020.

In the interview, Meghan speaks about the local community and adds that her mother, social worker Doria Ragland, often pops over for Grandma duty.

And when asked whether her husband Harry "feels isolated" without any family nearby, the former Suit actress responded: "Well, look, we’re both building community."

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
