Lorraine viewers gobsmacked as kids TV icon Timmy Mallett ‘hasn’t aged a day’

Television presenter Andi Peter was back on our screens this morning as he stepped in for Lorraine Kelly to present her ITV talk show.

The 50-year-old star welcomed Timmy Mallet onto Lorraine on Wednesday as they pair reminisced about their days on children's television.

Timmy, 64, is an English TV presenter, broadcaster, and artist best known for his striking visual style, colourful glasses, loud shirts, and giant pink foam mallet, known as "Mallett's Mallet", as well as his "utterly brilliant!" and "blaaah!" catchphrases.

ITV viewers rushed to their keyboards to discuss their feeling of nostalgia this morning.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Wow Andi Peters and Timmy mallet on @lorraine it’s like being a child all over again!"

Another added:"What is actually going on? Am I 10 again? The old clips are making my 13yr old ask questions I don't have answers for… other than 'that was the thing back then".

A third posted: "Woke up to see Andi Peters interviewing Timmy Mallett. Felt like I'd woke up in 1993!"

While a fourth said: "Oh my days, childhood meltdown @andipeters interviewing @TimmyMallett on #lorraine about polka dot bikinis, TVAM, and pinky punky has made me regress so hard I think I reversed puberty."

Fans couldn't help point out that both Tommy and Andi both look "exactly the same" as they did back in their heyday.

One ITV viewer tweeted: "Andy Peters and Timmy Mallet drink from the fountain of youth. Not aged a bit."

A second posted: "How is that @andipeters and @TimmyMallett don’t seem to have aged?! Loving the malletts mallet and whackadays throwback."

Another added: "Timmy Mallet is looking well."

A fourth said: "Oh my word, @TimmyMallett hasn't changed at all! Bring back Malletts Mallet!"

And made his Lorraine debut on Monday as the Scottish presenter took her annual holiday.

The former Live & Kicking presenter got more than he bargained for though, as the show pulled out all the stops to welcome him.

He's never hosted the show, with only one other male having taken over Lorraine over the years.

ITV favourite Andi was super excited about the move, and ended up breaking down in tears after a number of big surprises on the show.
