Michael B. Jordan Pitching His Vision for New Superman

The ‘Black Panther’ actor has reportedly met with producers at Warner Brothers about the studio’s attempt to revive the DC classic character Man of Steel in a new feature film.

AceShowbizMichael B. Jordan apparently met with Warner Brothers earlier this year about the studio’s DC superhero movie franchise. According to a scoop from Variety, the 32-year-old actor has pitched his vision for a new Superman.

No script and no director is attached to the project, but there have been discussions with J.J. Abrams. Sources claim it’s unlikely to come out before 2023. Because of that, the “Creed” is not committed to taking on the movie since he already has his hands full with his own projects.

Jordan is not a stranger to superhero movies. He starred in 2012’s found footage thriller “Chronicle“, played Human Torch in 2015’s “Fantastic Four” remake, and portrayed the villainous Erik “Killmonger” Stevens in 2018’s “Black Panther“.

He additionally lent his voice to Victor Stone / Cyborg in 2013’s direct-to-video animated movie “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox“. On top of that, he is expected to reprise his role as Erik Killmonger in Marvel’s anthology series “What If…?“.

Meanwhile, Warner Brothers is getting ready to shoot a new Batman movie following the success of their anti-hero movie “Joker” fronted by Joaquin Phoenix. Matt Reeves is on board as a director for “The Batman” and Robert Pattinson is signed up for the Caped Crusader, taking over the role from Ben Affleck.

Zoe Kravitz is set to join the cast members as Catwoman in the movie, Paul Dano is tapped as The Riddler, while Colin Farrell is expected to portray The penguin. If the reboot is successfully launched, it will reportedly lead to spin-offs for those side characters.

In the DC Extended Universe, Superman was previously played by Henry Cavill. He was first introduced as the superhero in 2013’s remake “Man of Steel” and then reprised his role in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and 2017’s “Justice League“.
