Love Island 2020 starts tonight (Sunday, January 12) at 9pm on ITV2. Earlier this week, the 12 singletons looking for love were revealed by ITV and one of the most talked-about islanders is Sophie Piper. Express.co.uk has everything you need to know about the 21-year-old star.

How is Love Island’s Sophie related to Rochelle Humes?

Sophie Piper entered the Love Island villa in Cape Town, South Africa, this weekend.

There, she will be joined by five boys and six other girls and tonight viewers will find out if she coupled up with one of them on the first day.

Speaking to ITV ahead of flying to South Africa, Sophie said her claim to fame was that her sister was Rochelle Humes.

Rochelle is best known for being part of the girl group The Saturdays and for presenting This Morning with her husband, Marvin Humes.

Sophie is the younger sister of 30-year-old singer and presenter, Rochelle Humes.

Rochelle and Lili are half-sisters and reunited for the first time in 23 years last summer.

Lili, Rochelle and Sophie all share the same mother. The siblings also have a brother, Jake Piper.

Speaking to Giovanni Fletcher on her Mum Happy Baby Podcast, Rochelle opened up about how she was reunited with her half-sisters more than 20 years later.

She had former Love Island winner Kem Cetinay to thank.

She said: “He was chatting away and said, ‘I’ve got to talk to you… as soon as I became a celeb, I promised my friend Lili that I would talk to you as she’s your sister on your dad’s side.’

“On a drunken night out, Kem asked me if he could give her my number… you know something that sobers you up instantly.

“She WhatsApp’d me and I didn’t reply till the morning because I thought, ‘I need to be sober for this’

“They all have each other. I am the weird older sister they feel they know because they’ve seen me on TV.”

Rochelle and Lili arranged to go with dinner with Sophie and Jake and Rochelle took her husband Marvin with her.

She said: “We are literally the same people, Marvin was like, ‘OMG, there’s more of you.’

“We’ve spoken every day since – Jeremy Kyle style. It’s like we’ve known each other all our lives.”

On Tuesday, January 7, Rochelle broke her silence on her sister Sophie taking part in the show.

Commenting on an Instagram post-Sophie shared with her 26 thousand followers Rochelle said: “Good luck baby sis. Bring us back a keeper.”

Rochelle’s husband and fellow This Morning presenter Marvin Humes also commented: “Is this how far @rochellehumes will go to make me watch Love Island?! Good Luck Soph x.”
