Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) threatened to murder his own children Mia and Mackenzie, before killing Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) in EastEnders tonight (September 18).
Chantelle and Gray returned home to No. 1 Albert Square to the sound of the ringing alarm.
After silencing the device, Gray entered the kitchen, where he confronted Chantelle about what’s going on between her and Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol).
Chantelle informed him that he she was leaving him — but not because of Kheerat, but because they’re marriage is broken as a result of his abuse.
Afterwards, she bravely stood up to him, and revealed that she was planning on taking the children with her.
Gray became incredibly nasty once more, and revealed that he’s not letting her take Mia and Mackenzie, and he issued a dark threat.

‘Let you, take my kids?’ he said, ‘I would rather go up there and strangle them both in their sleep.’
His threat left Chantelle horrified, and — after informing her she could watch — the sick abuser headed towards the stairs.
Chantelle managed to stop him in his tracks, and thus he turned his aggression towards her once more.
Tragedy ensued, as he violently pushed her onto the dishwasher, and she was fatally wounded by a knife.
Chantelle pleaded with him to help her, but instead, he let her die, and proceeded to make her death appear accidental.
