Spoilers: Harvey terrified for Jean as they get engaged in EastEnders

Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) are getting married in EastEnders! While this is a happy moment, there is an element of concern for Jean, who’s refusing help for her bipolar.

Jean’s behaviour has changed dramatically in recent weeks, with daughter Stacey (Lacey Turner) fearing how bad things will get as her mum convinces herself she isn’t unwell.

Last night, Martin (James Bye) and Whitney (Shona McGarty) found Jean stumbling out of a taxi after spending the night with a stag do.

Martin pressed Jean for information, worried the stags may have taken advantage of her.

As the day progressed, Jean found the wedding party and was thrilled to catch the bouquet of flowers – certain it was a sign from her late partner Daniel.

Making her way over to Harvey’s, Jean decided to propose.

Tonight, roles were reversed as Harvey proposed to Jean – and she said yes.

As Jean hugged Harvey, he looked concerned, leaving viewers wondering if he’s started to spot signs she isn’t well.

Away from his relationship with Jean, Harvey has developed strong friendships with Mitch (Roger Griffiths) and Rocky (Brian Conley) and as Ross Boatman revealed to Metro.co.uk, he really enjoys these dynamics:

‘I don’t get to go out nearly as much as I might once have done, partly because I’m old, partly because I’m a dad and partly because of the gruelling schedule I have to be there for’, he said.

‘But I spent a fair amount of my time growing up being in pub situations or football situations with the boys, with the lads, having that jovial banter, taking the mickey out of each other, but being there to support each other when it’s needed when there’s angst and drama. So those kind of relationships come quite naturally to me.’

‘I definitely enjoy playing them. It’s nice to enjoy the lighter side of stuff on Albert Square, because there is a lot of misery, for want of a better word. It’s part of the tradition of soaps.’
