Strictly fans convinced star has ‘dropped out of show at the last minute’ | The Sun

STRICTLY fans have been left convinced someone dropped out of the line-up at the last minute.

The celebrities taking part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing were recently revealed.

But, while rumours have been rumbling on for months now, presenter and former tennis player Annabel Croft has sparked rumours she was a last minute sign-up – replacing someone else.

Annabel, 57, was announced during an appearance on Virgin Radio and told host Ricky Wilson: "I only found out myself in the last few days!"

One fan commented on Reddit: "I just saw Annabel Croft speaking to Ricky Wilson on the radio show for her announcement and she said she only found out in the last few days that she was doing it.

"Surely it's sorted long before now? Was Annabel an alternate perhaps? Did someone drop out last minute."

Speculating who, if anyone, Annabel could have replaced, one person suggested it was Loose Women's Brenda Edwards who was heavily rumoured to be taking part.

They wrote: "Highly rumoured celebs like Brenda Edwards may have dropped out and replaced with her."

Andrea McLean previously revealed Strictly has "reserve" celebrities ready to step in if needed.

She told Metro: "Many years ago, I was actually a reserve and I was so relieved when I didn’t get called up because I got a glimpse into what it's like."
