The Witcher creators have already seen Liam Hemsworth as Geralt

The Witcher: Season 3 official trailer #2

Liam Hemsworth has already donned Geralt of Rivia’s iconic grey locks and golden eyes in preparation for the fourth season of The Witcher.

Express Online recently talked exclusively to the show’s producer Tomek Baginski, who unfortunately kept his lips sealed about what to expect from the Netflix fantasy hit after season three.

The final three episodes of the latest outing will drop later this month and – once the SAG-AFTRA strike has reached an agreement – Hemsworth will be taking the helm from Henry Cavill.

“One thing I can tell is I’ve already seen [Liam] in Witcher makeup,” he teased.

“And in the Witcher look. And he looks awesome.”

Hemsworth’s casting has proven divisive amongst fans as the British Superman star was seen as the perfect fit for the fantasy hero.

However, The Witcher’s producers are excited for some new blood to step into the role.

Baginski is known for his work on the trilogy of video games based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, and is eager for fans to see the next chapter of The Continent saga.

“The next stage will be Liam Hemsworth in this role,” Baginski explained.

“And he will be given space, he will be given his voice. He has to discover this character for himself.

“And, for me, it is crazily exciting. Especially in the world of the books, which kind of allow this unsureness.

“There are so many angles on so many stories which happen in the books. So it will be a great discovery to do it again.”

The producer also reminded us there was already a huge backlash when Cavill was cast as Geralt back in September 2018.

He recalled: “There was a huge, huge noise on the internet. They didn’t believe he would be a perfect Geralt.

“[But] he became a perfect Geralt. And I’m, on the same level, excited for Liam.

“It’s another Geralt, but it’s still an amazing actor with great charisma. And he’ll give a different flavour to this character, and a different style. And I’m very excited for that.”

The Witcher season 3, vol. 2 releases Thursday, July 27 on Netflix.
