Roxanne Pallett has angered fans after saying Ryan Thomas’ response to her allegations of physical assault demonstrated why domestic violence victims don’t speak out.
In a disturbing episode, which eventually saw the demise of the ex Emmerdale actress, viewers saw disbelieving housemates slowly start to see through Roxanne’s wild claims as the 35-year-old’s story began to get more exaggerated.
Shocking scenes saw:
- Roxanne demonstrate how Ryan "attacked" her with a string of punches to the ribs – which was markedly different to what viewers saw on Thursday nights show
- The actress sobbed as she held up her ordeal to that of a gagged domestic violence victim
- Ryan break down in tears as he thought his housemates disbelieved him
- Roxy realise audiences may not have experienced what she had told the house and eventually vanish from CBB – without saying goodbye
Roxanne’s fate was sealed when she appeared to realise viewers disliked her as they chanted "get Roxy out" when Ben Jardine was evicted.
But it was after Roxanne said Ryan Thomas was "turning things around" by telling his side of the story to fellow housemates Dan and Ben that domestic violence victims got angry.
Speaking after she joined the conversation when Ryan had left, Roxanne said: "This is why women don’t say anything, it all gets turned around. It was like a boxer, it’s like he is enjoying it. He doesn’t speak to me but he monitors me."
Earlier Ryan has said: "I know what she is doing to me. I am trying to show affection to everyone. It’s not her first BBQ, she knows what she is doing.
Later on Roxy said in the diary room: "I need to speak to the producers, Ryan is lying he’s trying to manipulate them into saying I made this up. I feel terrible, I feel lost. I am not enjoying this anymore. He is tarnishiong my reputation. UIf this was an act I would have won a Bafta, I haven’t even won a soap award. I’m not that good."
As housemates debated who was telling the truth, psychic Sally Morgan was formly team Ryan while Dan was told in the diary room: "BB has taken appropriate action. Its worth thinking about why Ryan hasn’t been removed."
Hardeep also was turned to team Ryan branding Roxy’s behaviour "so f**king transparent."
But Ryan was praised by viewers for his attitude.
Roxanne Pallett and Ryan Thomas’s CBB beef
He said: "It’s not even funny. She’s properly f**king me. It’s going to finish me. I have to make amends, I am going to be the bigger person, it has broken me a little bit. I didn’t have any idea but I am going to try and make this a happy house. I will not walk, I am not a quitter.
Speaking to Roxy Ryan says: "I am really sorry. I am heartbroken you would feel this way, I had no idea. I want you to know from the bottom of my heart. I promise you. Let’s just put it to bed, lets make everyone’s time inhere better
"Lets just make this right."
After Ben is evicted and Ryan hears the crowds he breaks down.
"I needed that" Ryan cried.
Sally says: "They all know. They all know. How do you think she feels now."
And, as the final nail is hammered into her coffin, Roxy still refuses to believe she has done anything wrong.
Crying in the diary room, she says: "You took my favourite person away, who am I going to sit next to? I cant be here abnymore. I need to be around normal people, to be be cut off is not fair. I would rather work in a corner shop for the rest of my life and be on rations. I don’t need the fame or the fortune this bad to put myself through this."
She then leaves the house without saying goodbye to the housemates.
