It wouldn’t be EastEnders without a dramatic Christmas Day. For years, the show has brought us some of the most explosive and action-packed episodes on Christmas Day, and this year is no different.
So, if you’re tucking into your Christmas Day chocolate or putting off tidying up the wrapping paper for as long as possible, here’s everything you need to know about Christmas Day in Walford:
What time in EastEnders on tonight, and what channel is it on?
EastEnders airs tonight on BBC One at 9:10-10pm.
What happens in EastEnders tonight?
The residents of Albert Square have spent the week counting down to Christmas but meanwhile, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) has been living in fear after his attack in the Queen Vic. Someone wants him dead, but just who could it be?
In the Mitchell’s household, Lexi is busy opening her Christmas presents when Ian storms over, accusing Ben (Max Bowden) of trying to kill him. The police turn up and make an arrest, but who are they there for? We’re about to find out as the truth will come to light in tonight’s festive episode…
Elsewhere, Denise (Diane Parish) wants a “normal Christmas” for her son Raymond, but it’s going to be the last thing she gets this year. Why? Because one of the most notorious villains EastEnders has ever seen – Lucas Johnson (Don Gilet) – returns tonight. Lucas makes his comeback to Walford but he’s not alone, he’s with his and Denise’s daughter Chelsea (now played by Zaraah Abrahams) also. What are they doing and why are they together? It comes as a shock to Denise, but Chelsea is equally dumbfounded to see her mum with Raymond.
Denise arrives home, rattled by her encounter with Lucas and as she explains what happens, there’s a knock at the door – it’s Chelsea. Denise warns her how dangerous Lucas is but as they talk, Kim (Tameka Empson) notices Patrick (Rudolph Walker) has disappeared – furiously protective of Denise he wants to track down Lucas…could he be about to put himself in danger?
Over in the Slater’s house, Stacey (Lacey Turner) receives her present from Martin (James Bye) and is very surprised to see what he got her. Jean (Gillian Wright) suggests they all go to the pub and later, Stacey and Marin leave together. Encouraged by his thoughtful gift, Stacey takes a chance and kisses Martin.
Mick (Danny Dyer) and Ollie join Shirley (Linda Henry), Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White), Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) for Christmas lunch but when Tina gives Mick an old photograph of them and Katy (Simone Lahbib) at the care home as a gift, Mick is consumed by his emotions and freezes.
As Christmas Day comes to an end, one Walford resident makes a lethal move – will this be the last Christmas for Ian Beale?
Just like past Christmas Days in Albert Square, the aftermath of what happens tonight will set us up for a huge New Year…
