Preparations are well underway in Australia for the much-anticipated new series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! as it returns Down Under for the first time since the Covid pandemic.

Among the sets being erected for the new series are the famous Walk The Plank challenge atop a 32-storey building on the Gold Coast, where celebrities will be have to walk to the edge of the terrifying platform before moving into the jungle camp.

FIRST LOOK: Preparations are well underway in Australia for the much-anticipated new series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! as it returns Down Under for the first time since the Covid pandemic

As the countdown continues to the return of I’m A Celebrity on November 6, the Walk The Plank was being prepared at the top of the perilous high-rise, with the brand new addition of a third platform.

Previous years have seen celebrities compete for more luxury when they enter camp by walking towards the star at the end of the platform, leading many stars to face their crippling fear of heights.

Like previous years, the celebrities will be split into two teams where they will compete for the chance to spend their first night in a slightly better camp than the others.

Coming soon! The series is set to be the toughest yet, and hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have already arrived in Australia for filming

In the works: Elsewhere, miles away in the heart of the jungle, crew members have also been spotted preparing various sets for the Bushtucker Trials, including a Wild West setting, a large swimming pool and a merry-go-round

It’s back! It appears that the legendary Walk The Plank challenge will be returning for the launch episode, as crew members were seen erecting the vast structure atop a high-rise on the Gold Coast

Vast! As the countdown continues to the return of I’m A Celebrity on November 6, the Walk The Plank was being prepared at the top of the 32-storey building with the brand new addition of a third platform

Don’t look down! Spread over the structure were three different planks, which will set the stage for the first Bushtucker Trial of the series

Coming soon: Previous years have seen celebrities compete for more luxury when they enter camp by walking towards the star at the end of the platform, leading many stars to face their crippling fear of heights

Crew have also been spotted building a Wild West setting in the middle of the jungle for a trial, along with a large swimming pool.

Hosts Ant and Dec, who have already touched down in Australia ahead of filming, have also had an upgrade to their famous treehouse studio, with a brand new roof being placed on top.

In contrast to last year’s castle setting, this year’s I’m A Celebrity is expected to be the toughest yet, with the stars living among bugs and creepy crawlies in the outdoor camp, while completing gruelling Bushtucker Trials in a bid to win food.

So scary! Like previous years, the celebrities will be split into two teams where they will compete for the chance to spend their first night in a slightly better camp than the others

Dramatic: It is set to be competitive start to the new series, as celebrities compete for slightly better luxuries in the camp

That’s high! The perilously-placed platforms will no doubt prove terrifying for some of the celebrities, who will have to face their biggest fears

I’m A Celebrity will return to screens on Sunday, November 6, at 9pm, with a 105 minute special, which will see the stars moving into their new home for the first time after spending a week in hotel quarantine.

Already much of this year’s I’m A Celebrity lineup has been revealed with ITV newsreader Charlene White, England star Jill Scott joining DJ Chris Moyles, Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver, Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner and Love Island’s Olivia Attwood as the first celebrities to arrive in Brisband as part of this year’s lineup.

On Thursday Charlene was seen touching down in Brisbane ahead of the new series, after it was reported earlier this month that she had joined the lineup.

Here she comes! Some of this year’s I’m A Celebrity lineup has already touched down in Australia for the new series, with Loose Women’s Charlene White (left) and England Lioness Jill Scott the latest to arrive in Oz on Thursday

Here he comes: Jill’s arrival comes after Owen Warner was the fourth campmate confirmed to be heading into the jungle

Joining the cast! The previous day, Coronation Street star Sue became the third star to touch down in Australia ahead of the upcoming season of I’m A Celebrity

‘It should be nice!’ It followed quickly after DJ Chris Moyles (left) and Love Island star Olivia Attwood (right), the first two stars confirmed for the 2022 lineup

What a production! Deep in the Australian jungle, crew members are working tirelessly to prepare the set for filming, ahead of the launch next month

Vast! Crew have also been spotted building a Wild West setting in the middle of the jungle for a trial, along with a large swimming pool

Ready for the challenge? Exteriors of buildings have been set up in the jungle for one of the Trials, with viewers once again voting to choose a celebrity to face the trials

Where are the bugs? No doubt the challenge will be packed with hidden surprises and nasty additions which will push the celebrities to their limits

Jumping in! Close to the Wild West set was a large swimming pool, which will likely be the setting for another scary task, so the celebrities can win food for their camp

That’s new! Hosts Ant and Dec, who have already touched down in Australia ahead of filming, have also had an upgrade to their famous treehouse studio, with a brand new roof being placed on top

Anticipated: Other stars reported to have signed up for the adventure include 1980s pop icon Boy George and comedian Seann Walsh

A source told The Sun: ‘Charlene is a great signing for the show. She’s got some strong opinions, but is really personable and will be good value around the Aussie campfire.

‘They hope her journalistic background means she will eke out some illuminating conversations from her campmates, which shouldn’t be hard given some of the people she’ll be sleeping in a bunk next to.’

Charlene first joined the ITV news team in 2008, as a newscaster for the early-evening edition, and in 2014 she became the first black woman in history to present News At Ten.

Claims: DJ Chris was among the first celebrities reported to have signed up for the new series

Claims: A source previously told The Sun: ‘Chris is a huge signing for I’m A Celebrity and they have been trying to sign him for years

In 2021, Charlene joined Loose Women as a lead anchor following Andrea McLean’s exit, and she continues to host the ITV Lunchtime News and early-evening edition, as well as ITV London.

Charlene’s arrival comes mere hours after retired England star Jill was spotted arriving in Australia after being part of the rumoured lineup.

Despite the lengthy flight, the former Lioness, who retired in August following the team’s historic Euros victory, was in high spirits as she strolled through the airport to head to her hotel.

Jill’s arrival comes after Owen Warner, best known for his role as Romeo Nightingale on Hollyoaks, was the fourth campmate confirmed to be heading into the jungle.

Lots of challenges ahead! The source added: ‘Chris has signed up and is preparing himself mentally and physically to go Down Under. This a huge moment for him and he cannot wait to get stuck in’

Rumours: Earlier this week it was reported that former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Seann Walsh has signed up

Owen was in a relationship with his co-star Stephanie Davis between 2018 and 2019 and was later linked with Chloe Ferry and The Apprentice runner-up Camilla Ainsworth.

It comes after Coronation Street’s Sue became the third star to touch down in Australia ahead of the upcoming season.

Olivia Attwood and Chris Moyles were spotted jetting to Australia ahead of filming the hit show on Tuesday, as the first stars  ‘confirmed’ for this year’s I’m A Celebrity.

Reports: According to The Sun, ITV bosses are hoping Seann will discuss his infamous 2018 snog with his Strictly pro partner Katya Jones, who was married to fellow dancer Neil Jones at the time

Rumours: According to reports, Seann and Olivia will be joining the likes of Babatunde Aleshe and Boy George in the jungle

It’s back! Ant and Dec are set to welcome 12 new famous faces into the Australian camp in November

At last! In a statement, ITV announced: ‘Autumn also brings I’m A Celebrity which makes a welcome return to ITV from the Australian jungle’

On the move! Previous years saw the show relocated to Gwrych Castle in Wales due to Covid travel restrictions

Other stars reported to have signed up for the adventure include 1980s pop icon Boy George and comedian Seann Walsh.

A source previously told The Sun: ‘Chris is a huge signing for I’m A Celebrity and they have been trying to sign him for years.

‘Previously he’s turned them down for a number of reasons but this year feels like the right time. Chris has signed up and is preparing himself mentally and physically to go Down Under. This a huge moment for him and he cannot wait to get stuck in.

Champion: The 2021 series saw Danny Miller crowned as King of the Castle , while Giovanna Fletcher was the first person to win the Welsh version of the show the year before

‘Fans of the show are in for a real treat and Chris has no doubt there will be some people who will be ringing to vote for him to do some of the gruelling trials.’

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly said they wanted to see Chris as a campmate back in 2012, with Dec explaining: ‘He would be really funny, he’d probably win.

‘And he’s lost so much weight, even the lack of food wouldn’t bother him.’ Ant added: ‘The thing is eventually they all say yes. We just wear them down.’

Earlier this week it was reported that former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Seann Walsh has signed up.

Not long now! I’m A Celebrity will return to screens on Sunday, November 6, at 9pm, with a 105 minute special, which will see the stars moving into their new home for the first time after spending a week in hotel quarantine

It’s nearly time! The new series will see a brand new group of stars heading into the jungle where they will face tough conditiions, and be completely separated from the outside world

According to The Sun, ITV bosses are hoping that the comedian will discuss his infamous 2018 snog with his Strictly pro partner Katya Jones, who was married to fellow dancer Neil Jones at the time.

The brief fling resulted in the end of Katya’s marriage to Neil the following year and Seann splitting with his ex-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries.

According to reports, Seann and Olivia will be joining the likes of Babatunde Aleshe and Boy George in the jungle.

Ant and Dec are set to welcome 12 new famous faces into the Australian camp in November.

In a statement, ITV said: ‘Autumn also brings I’m A Celebrity which makes a welcome return to ITV from the Australian jungle.’

The 2021 series saw Danny Miller crowned as King of the Castle, while Giovanna Fletcher was the first person to win the Welsh version of the show the year before.
