McDonald’s staff 'beat rat to death with broom as it ran around restaurant' | The Sun

A MUM says McDonald’s staff beat a rat to death with a broom as it ran around their shopping centre restaurant.

Camille Oladokun, 21, says she was scared the rodent “was going to attack” her daughter Yana Atayi, three, as it scuttled round her buggy.

She said: “I know they can be aggressive. I didn’t care about myself; I didn’t want it near her.”

The nail technician said staff at the Westfield Stratford City branch of McDonald’s in East London, managed to corner the animal.

Camille said: "They started whacking it with the broom. We quickly went to the other side of the restaurant.

"I didn't really watch them beat it to death. I turned my daughter's buggy around because I didn't want her to see that but I heard them do it and they said it was dead.

"I didn't really want to see any blood so didn't look back again.

"It's unhygienic, it's disgusting, it's inhumane.

"The fact the rat is already in the restaurant, the restaurant has already been contaminated, there's already a problem so killing it like that doesn't solve the issue regardless.

McDonald’s said staff “took immediate steps to rectify the situation”.
