Chilling surveillance video captured a man pointing a gun at an elderly Bronx resident in his apartment building — all for a measly $18.
The hooded man followed the 77-year-old, who was using a cane, onto the elevator of a building near Southern Boulevard and Barretto Street in Longwood just before 11 a.m. Monday, according to the video released by cops later that day.
When the elevator opens on the victim’s floor, the gunman is seen stepping in front of him, pulling out a gun and ordering him to hand over his money, police said.
The victim gave him $18 in cash and the gunman ran out of the building, heading north on Southern Boulevard.
Police described the thief as a “dark-skinned Hispanic male” who was wearing dark sweatpants with red stripes on each side and a dark coat with a fur-lined hood.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
