A New Jersey woman needed 10 stitches after she was slashed in the face by a stranger near Port Authority Bus Terminal, police said Thursday.
The 23-year-old Moorsetown woman was standing with friends near the corner of West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue around 11:10 p.m. Wednesday when Tyquan McClary, a 22-year-old stranger, allegedly slashed her in the left cheek following a brief argument, cops said.
It wasn’t immediately clear what prompted the squabble.
McClary then ran off, and a witness alerted nearby police officers to what had happened.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center, where she received 10 stitches, a police source said.
Cops searched the area and found McClary two blocks away, on the corner of West 40th Street and Eighth Avenue, along with the knife he is believed to have used in the attack.
The Highbridge, Bronx man was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He has three prior unsealed arrests, including an assault from 2013, cops said.
