Britney Spears ‘will tell judge why she is angry father Jamie has control over her life’ as she chooses to have ‘no interaction with him’ amid conservatorship battle
Britney Spears is reportedly planning to disclose why she filed an official petition to have her father Jamie removed as her conservator last month to a judge.
Sources close to the 39-year-old star, who is on a self-imposed work hiatus until her dad relinquishes control over her estate and career, reveal she is ‘angry’ at Jamie and has ‘virtually no interaction with him anymore.’
‘A lot of this stems from her days growing up when Jamie was not present in her life,’ an insider told TMZ of the singer’s ‘frustration’ over having to live under Jamie’s guardianship for nearly 13 years.

During a proceeding Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Judge Brenda Penny ‘scheduled a hearing on June 23 to allow Spears to speak on the status of the conservatorship,’ according to Variety.
Her lawyer, Samuel Ingham, noted that ‘Britney wants to address the court directly’ on an ‘on an expedited basis.’
This will be the first time in years the Grammy winner has been able to speak about her controversial conservatorship, which recently received renewed attention after the release of the New York Times’ documentary Framing Britney Spears in February.

Five months ago, Penny rejected the mother-of-two’s plea to remove Jamie as the conservator of her estate, but did appoint the financial company, Bessemer Trust, as co-conservator, at Britney’s request.
In March, Britney requested Jodi Montgomery, who has been overseeing her for around two years, replace her father in the position.
Montgomery was appointed temporary conservator for the Womanizer artist in September of 2019, and Britney has been pleased with her performance, sources told TMZ.

Insiders in the case said Jamie is amenable with the switch, as the position is focused on Spears’ day-to-day activities.
The Baby One More Time singer’s legal team said that they would like Montgomery to stay in the role, which includes responsibilities such as employing caretakers and security, speaking to medical people on Britney’s behalf and seeing through restraining orders the celebrity might need.
Montgomery has the power to limit those visiting Britney, with the exception of her lawyers.

Jamie would continue to be preside over the estate conservatorship, which focuses on the singer’s financial and business ongoings, along with Bessemer Trust Company.
The performer’s legal team has also sought the court’s permission to put an end to the conservatorship.
‘Petitioner expressly reserves the right to petition for termination of this conservatorship under Probate Code section 1861,’ the legal docs read, according to the outlet. ‘Nothing in the within petition shall be deemed to constitute a waiver of that right.’

Speaking with CNN in December, Jamie said he and Britney hadn’t talked in four months, and that he remained focused to remain at the head of the conservatorship.
‘When a family member needs special care and protection, families need to step up, as I have done for the last 12-plus years, to safeguard, protect and continue to love Britney unconditionally,’ he said. ‘I have and will continue to provide unwavering love and fierce protection against those with self-serving interests and those who seek to harm her or my family.’
Meanwhile, Britney’s boyfriend, Sam Asghari, sparked headlines when calling her father a ‘total d****’ earlier this year for trying to control their relationship.
