Janette Manara gives pregnancy update as she says ‘acupuncture saved the day’

Janette Manrara shares pregnancy tip

Strictly: It Takes Two presenter Janette Manara has shared some good news about her health with her 547,000 Instagram followers.

The fleet footed former Strictly Come Dancing professional had been suffering from back pains as she nears the end of her pregnancy.

However, she found a solution to the problem and shared it with fans an Instagram story.

Sitting in the London flat she shares with fellow dancer husband Aljaž Škorjanec, she revealed that acupuncture had done the trick.

“I had really bad muscle spasms in my back, like it was really, really bad,” the So You Think You Can Dance star said.

“And there’s not many options for us pregnant women when it comes to pain control. You can’t take many things,” she conceded. “Acupuncture,” she began before singing, “saved the day”.

“Honestly it made me feel so much better,” she continued clearly delighted with the results.

She intimated that she had slept better following the procedure and told fans that she and Aljaž were now spending time together while waiting on their arrival.

This announcement followed on from her update a couple of days ago where she admitted that she could “barely walk”.

She told her followers: “Had some acupuncture today and hoping that will help with the back pain.

“Can barely walk now but had a check-up yesterday and baby and I are doing good! More rest on the schedule today,” she added with a heart emoji.

Since the alternative therapy worked for her Janette can now relax as she awaits the birth. Her back pain was caused by Pelvic Girdle Pain which she was diagnosed with earlier this month.

Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PGP) is a collection of uncomfortable symptoms caused by a stiffness of your pelvic joints or the joints moving unevenly at either the back or front of your pelvis.

At the time she updated fans saying: “I had an official diagnosis and it’s pelvic girdle pain. Apparently, it affects 20 percent of women during pregnancy so if you felt it you know what I’m going through.

“But today I woke up better. The pregnancy pillow has moved down with me so I don’t have to keep going upstairs if I want to take a nap. I can just take a nap down here. But thanks for checking in. All is good. I’m doing alright. Last night was a better night so I got a bit of sleep.”
