Katie Price ‘in bits’ as she ‘loses pet Chihuahua’ during luxury holiday

Katie Price was reportedly left “in bits” after losing her pet dog while on holiday.

The former glamour model, 44, was enjoying a luxury holiday in Sandbanks in Dorset alongside her fiancé Carl Woods when her pet Chihuahua “escaped”, resulting in an eight-hour long search for the pooch.

They were holidaying at a friend’s house, which they thought would be secure, but were left surprised when the tiny dog managed to run away.

Katie, who recently opened up on her house being “vandalised”, welcomed new pup Captain into her family earlier this year.

A source said: "Katie was in bits. She thought Captain would be fine off his lead as they were staying on a friend's private property which was very secure but he managed to run off.

"They couldn't find him anywhere and everyone was looking.

"Katie was devastated thinking she has lost him for good, or that he might get run over."

Thankfully, the dog was found unharmed several hours later by a member of the public.

Continuing to The Sun, the source added: "A stranger found Captain running around and as they couldn't see an owner anywhere, they took him to a local vets.

"The vet then ID'd him using his digital tagging microchip, which was registered to the breeder.

"The breeder then contacted Katie, who was thrilled and so relieved to be reunited with Captain."

OK! has reached out to a rep for Katie Price for comment.

The star has also had many other pets over the years, including another Chihuahua named Buddy, a German shepherd named Blade, a chameleon called Marvin and a cat called Hagrid.

However, the family faced tragedy in 2020 when their French Bulldog puppy Rolo died in 2020 after suffocating to death at Katie’s home.

Katie previously revealed that her pets are important to her as she feels a "need to love" following the "void" left by her son Harvey leaving home.

In an exclusive interview with OK!, she showed us the new dog Captain and joked: "It's ridiculous, he just looks like a rat.”

She added that although things are better at home now, it "wasn't easy" when Harvey first moved to Cheltenham to attend National Star.

"I love it. It's easier. But, there's a void in my life," she admitted.
