Actress Louisa Lytton has revealed that she and her fiancé Ben Bhanvra are expecting their first child together.

The EastEnders star, 32, took to Instagram on Sunday morning to make the announcement as she unveiled her baby bump in a heartwarming video.

Scored with Stevie Wonder’s classic track As, the screen star’s fun-filled footage showed the card she’d sent to her own mother, which read: ‘Just a little note to say, there’s a baby on the way.’

Their announcement video included footage of dad-to-be Ben reading a pregnancy book, while their adorable pet pooch sported a neckerchief, which read: ‘My parents are getting me a human.’

However, Louisa’s growing baby bump soon stole the show, when she lifted her floral patterned shirt to show it off in all its burgeoning glory.

Wearing high-waisted grey elasticated bottoms,  the north London native playfully pointed at her baby bump in faux shock before playfully wiggling her waist.

She also showed off the Mother’s Day cards and flowers she had received, with one card praising her as a ‘bloomin’ beautiful mum-to-be’.

Captioning the footage, Louisa paid tribute to her own mother, as she wrote: ‘Dear Mum, If I am a fraction of the mother you are, I know I’ll be the best.

‘You have held my hand for 32 years, you have taught me right from wrong, corrected my spelling, and helped me see the light at the end of every single tunnel.

And now you will guide me to becoming a mummy. (Just try not to move yourself in or Ben might leave) ❤️ Happy Mother’s Day All, to those that are here, that are not with us in person but with us every moment and to those on a journey.’

Within minutes of sharing the post, she was inundated with a flood of congratulatory messages from a host of celebrity friends and EastEnders co-stars.

Emma Barton responded: ‘Oh darling girl.. I’m crying!! This is sooo beautiful… Congratulations to you both.’

Last month, Louisa admitted she felt ‘so anxious’ about collecting her wedding dress, because she doesn’t know if her nuptials will go ahead this year due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Taking to Instagram recently, Louisa revealed she has left her gown still in the shop due to the uncertainty if she can marry this year.  

Louisa shared a picture of her trying on a bridal dress as she wrote on Instagram: ‘Going to try on wedding dresses feels like a lifetime ago. My mum came to every appointment. 

‘I loved every dress. She chose the winner. (This ISN’T it) My dress is still in the shop as I feel so anxious about collecting it? 

‘Not knowing if I’ll even be wearing it this year? Brides . . How are you feeling? Are you still counting on 2021 for your big day or are 2022 new dates being discussed? (sic)’.

The actress – who plays Ruby Allen on the BBC soap – recently admitted she and Ben will postpone their nuptials if they cannot have ‘the exact wedding’ they want.

Louisa told OK! Magazine: ‘We’ve booked the wedding for July, we just don’t know if it will go ahead. We’ve said that if we can’t have the exact wedding we want, with all our guests, we’ll postpone it again.

‘Otherwise, to me that’s not a wedding – it’s not the wedding I would want. It’s not worth it for us.’  

The soap star insisted she would prefer to wait to have their big day, until it’s completely safe and their guests can fully relax.   

Louisa also admitted she has been tempted to completely call off the wedding as she said: ‘Part of me felt like scrapping everything and starting again.’ 

However, the couple would have lost their money if she’d have made the changes she truly wanted, so for now, they’re forging ahead.

Talking of their plans for a family, Louisa enthused that their pet pooch Riley makes her feel like ‘a proud mum’ and revealed she’s ‘been broody for a while’ and would ‘love to have a big family.’ 

The EastEnders star admitted that she’d like more than one child, with Ben concurring, adding that he thinks it’s nice when children have siblings. 

Louisa and Ben got engaged on her 30th birthday while enjoying a romantic break in the Maldives in the summer of 2019, after a year of dating.
