Writhing on her bed while touching her body and wearing black lingerie, Melissa admitted that shame "never got her back in her jeans", "never made her lose weight" and "never made her sign up for the gym".
In the caption, Melissa posed the question: "Why do you always show your body?" before answering it herself.
"Because I’m not ashamed of it anymore. I have nothing to hide. And why should I?" she replied.
The former soap star, who is a mum of one, went on: "When we shame ourselves into new habits, they don’t stick. We slip back pretty easily, except now we also feel terrible about it. Shame might ‘correct’- but it doesn’t last."
She urged her followers to make choices that make them feel good and lift them up and make them feel proud.
Melissa added: "Where the hard work is as a result of believing in yourself, rather than betting against yourself. The world won’t always lift you up- but you can always lift yourself."
Fans of the blonde beauty were quick to comment on the snap, with one writing: "Bloody show it more you gorgeous creature."
"You look so beautiful and perfect you should be so proud of yourself. Your super hot and sexy," penned a second.
A third simply added: "Gorgeous mama."
While a fourth said: "Thank you for this… I’m still working my way to your level of comfort but these videos are so encouraging! And that jiggle though!!!!!"
And a fifth wrote: "Please don't ever change, you are beautiful but how you inspire others including myself to love our bodies is so empowering."
