Gavin and Stacey legend Larry Lamb told Good Morning Britain host Ben Shephard "get it right" in a tense moment after the presenter's slip of the tongue.

The fan-favourite actor came on the ITV show to talk about his support for end-of-life charity Marie Curie, but Ben and Kate Garraway couldn't help asking about his showbiz jaunts too.

Larry recently reunited with his Gavin and Stacey co-star Alison Steadman for a new UKTV series in which they complete a road trip from Billericay to Barry, which is where the characters in the beloved comedy show lived.

But Ben appeared to struggle with Billericay, in Essex, which prompted Larry to quip: "Get it right."

He explained: "UK Gold shows Gavin and Stacey a lot so they thought, why don't we do a show with the journey from Billericay to Barry Island, or Barry-bados as they call it."

Larry, 75, didn't give too much away, but did tease: "I've got a very special guest in the car for [Alison], that's how it starts."

He said: "It's a fascinating trip, with Alison and I reminiscing, kind of slipping in and out of [character as] Mick and Pam."

Ben asked if the special guest was Uncle Bryn, played by comedian Rob Brydon, but Larry confirmed it was not.

He said: "This is a very special guest that's not in the programme, somebody that has great relevance in the end."
