The drama is centred around Linda Carter, Stacey Slater, Suki Panesar, Kathy Beale, Denise Fox and Sharon Watts.

An ominous voiceover warns: "In a flash, everything changes."

The dramatic trailer starts by showing Linda, who is played by Kellie Bright, looking deeply stressed behind the bar.

Linda can then be heard saying: "There is a moment just before you do something…

One wrote: "Anyone else think this could a flashfoward episode."

Another posted: "Whether they are all separate stories or one combined I’m not sure, but it looks like a flashforward type of episode."

A third said: "A flashforward element of some sort does seem the most likely, would be a first for EastEnders and ties into what Clenshaw said about Kellie Bright filming something in January, whether it turns out to be a proper flashforward thing with scenes from months in the future, or something that just flashes to the end of the week."

"Maybe a flash forward to a wedding where we don’t see the bride… or a funeral," another echoed.

While others suggested that the ladies will be part of a join storyline – possibly involving a murder.

One shared: "Maybe something happens at a night out and they all agree to cover it up?"

A second posted: "I'm guessing someone murders someone and they all decide to keep the secret, its given me major I Know What You Did Last Summer vibes."

"I wonder if we just get a flashforward scene of Linda, Stacey, Suki, Sharon, Denise and Kathy standing over Nish's body," someone else wrote.

This very special week kicks off beginning February 20, 2023 and commemorates 38 years since the death of Reg Cox rocked Walford back in 1985.

It comes after EastEnders producer Chris Clenshaw teased a major storyline for landlady Linda – one that's never been done before.

Actor Danny Dyer bowed out of the BBC One program on Christmas Day as his character dived into the sea in an attempt to save Linda after a shocking accident.

The Vic landlord disappeared, leading fans to believe he may have died.

The Carter matriarch has been left to grieve in the aftermath of Mick's disappearance – but she'll soon embark on a new chapter.

"Linda has cemented herself as a modern day matriarch and we have big plans ahead for her", Chris first teased.
