Jersey Shore fans think cast is dropping hints Ronnie Ortiz-Magro will NOT return after domestic violence arrest

JERSEY Shore fans think the MTV show's cast is dropping hints that Ronnie Ortiz-Magro won't be returning to the show after he took a 'break' from filming due to his domestic violence arrest.

Speculation started swirling after Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino shared a photo from son Romeo's baptism.

Ronnie, 36, was noticeably absent from the snap, which featured the caption: "We don't have friends we only have family."

The picture made its way from Instagram to Reddit, where fans questioned Ronnie's future on the show.

One commenter wrote: "Yeah, Ronnie's no longer part of the fam, officially… it seems."

Another Reddit user wrote: "Pretty sure it was filmed for the show, so no, no Ron."

A third fan jokingly speculated that Ronnie was there, he just wasn't pictured, writing: "Ron's crying in a nearby bathroom," a nod to some of his past behavior on the show.

Ronnie has had a difficult time since the show took off.

He previously claimed he was returning to the MTV show following his arrest, which TMZ reported on first.

In September, The Sun exclusively reported that his Jersey Shore co-stars weren't thrilled to hear the news.

'NOT HAPPY'

A source said at the time that castmates were shocked to hear he planned to film again after stepping away to manage his mental health and deal with issues that arose after his arrest for domestic violence.

The insider said: "When the cast found out the news, they weren't thrilled, but they feel there is nothing they can do about it."

Speaking with TMZ at the time, Ronnie said: "I feel great, man. Four months sober, quit drinking."

He said he was "living the good life" with fiancée Saffire Matos and three-year-old daughter Ariana, whom he shares with Jen Harley.

Ronnie said he felt ready to return to the show and seemed excited and eager to get back with his friends.

"I'll be back. All the fans love me, and I love them too, so I'm gonna give them what they want, and I'll see them soon," he said.

He hoped to "hopefully be back by the end of season five."

Ronnie added that he would be having another reunion with his co-stars outside of the show, telling TMZ he planned to invite them all to his wedding.

He told the outlet: "We're family at the end of the day. We grew up together, 12 years strong. They're family forever."

A source previously told The Sun: "Ronnie is not filming, at least not as of now. The cast started filming a little here and there two weeks ago, but now they're all filming full force, sans Ron."

The insider continued at the time: "There is no sign that Ronnie is joining anytime soon."

Fans are still awaiting his return.

If Ron does leave the show, he won't be the only one.

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi briefly left the show, too, but will be returning for season five, according to PEOPLE.

The outlet lists Ronnie as part of the cast.

Ronnie announced his break from the show in May after he was arrested in April for domestic violence in an incident involving Saffire.

He released a statement at the time, saying: "After talking to the team at MTV, we have mutually agreed that I will step away from the show while I seek medical treatment for mental health issues that I've ignored too long.

"My number one goal now is facing my struggled head on."

In May, sources told The Sun: "The entire case has said they don't want to film with him because they believe he is not mentally stable. They feel his is a ticking time bomb and he makes all of them look bad."

He attended court in Los Angeles in September, at which time he was facing up to 30 days in jail.

The judge allowed him to go free, asking him to take 26 parenting classes instead.

Ronnie was also placed on a three-year protective order where he is prohibited from harassing or intimidating Saffire.

At the time, Ronnie had recently completed a rehab program in Florida, which is why he was permitted to skip jail.
