Love Island star claims ‘best fights are when you’re tired’

Love Island: Adam gets to know Paige in first look

Love Island has been on air since 2015 and has seen many participants fall in love with the person they met in the villa and go on to have blossoming romances.

Not all the contestants have had the best luck when it comes to finding love in the villa, with former star Adam Collard going in twice to see if he could do anything different.

The Geordie personal trainer first entered the show in 2018 for season four, and then again last year during season eight.

He was the first contestant to appear on the show twice and has recently opened up on the secrets of the villa.

Adam appeared on The Not So Fit Couple podcast with Lucy Davis and revealed that the cast are kept awake until 4am to heighten the drama.

He also added the stars aren’t aware of what the time is or what day they are on, praising “clever” producers who provoke arguments.

Recalling his first date with Kendall Rae-Knight in 2018, he said: “The first time it was on me and Kendall got taken on a date and was really romantic, lights in the dark and all of that and in the car, it was 4am.

“It was 4am and I was on my way there… because what happens is they need perfect lighting for the TV screens and stuff like that.

“So the sleep pattern is, you wake up at one in the afternoon and you go to bed 4am or 5am in the morning that’s what the sleep pattern is because it’s better lighting…

“That’s what they change your sleep pattern to, I reckon it’s borderline. We worked this out, it’s 12, 1 o’clock midday, wake up and it’s 4am or 5am [to get to bed], depending on if the night is dramatic or not.”

During their discussion, Adam also discussed the famous re-couplings which take place around the fire pit and have been known to cause some drama.

“Some of the recouplings are at 3am or 4am in the morning. They’re never early. And when do the best arguments happen between you two? When you are tired. When you’re knackered. So it’s clever isn’t it.”

Like last year’s Summer series the 10th season will take place in the six-bedroom Majorca mansion, which is reportedly worth £2.57million.

It has also been claimed the series will only run for eight weeks this time around, being a downgrade from the last season which lasted 10 weeks.

The cast this year is yet to be unveiled, however, This Morning presenter Alison Hammond’s son Aiden, but he unfortunately, turned down the chance a source told The Sun.

Meanwhile, TikTokker Molly Marsh has been described as a “shoo-in” for the upcoming series with the same source claiming: “After going through the process, she’s now a shoo-in to fly to Mallorca later this month.

“She is a star on the rise and comes from a showbiz family. Molly has made it clear she’s got what it takes to make a bang and ITV love her.”

Love Island returns Monday, June 5 from 9pm on ITV2.
