Sid Owen hints at EastEnders return as he says he’d always go back to Ricky role

EastEnders star Sid Owen made an appearance on BBC Breakfast on Monday morning and told presenters Louise Minchin and John Kay that he would "love" to return to the soap.

The actor who is best known to fans for playing the role of Ricky Butcher in Walford confessed that he wouldn't mind making a return.

When asked by Louise if he had conversations with EastEnders execs, Sid, 49, admitted that he had spoken to them "on and off" and says he still has fond memories of appearing on the show.

Trying to find out more information on a return, John asked the actor: "Would you ever go back to it?"

"Always!" Sid replied.

The actor also said: "It is my life, it is a big part of my life. And thanks to the EastEndets I am able to do shows like Master Chef and have a nice life.
