Vicky Pattison ‘absolutely devastated’ over death of favourite Hollywood actor

Vicky Pattison took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to her favourite Hollywood actor, Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andre Braugher, after he tragically passed away at the age of 61.

His death was confirmed on Monday by his publicist who revealed that he had been suffering from a short illness. He was well-known for his serious portrayal of Captain Raymond Holt on Brooklyn 99, as well as his character Detective Frank Pembleton in Homicide: Life on the Street.

Sharing a photo of the actor to Instagram, Vicky penned: "Everytime someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better more interesting place. So Thankyou. Captain Raymond Holt."

Vicky went on to say that Brooklyn 99 was her "comfort show" and that she watched it "constantly".

She said: "it brings me solace when I'm sad and it makes me laugh out loud when I'm happy! I can recite the lines from memory and no matter how many times I've watched an episode- I can still giggle away to it like it's the first time."

She continued: "The news this morning that @andrebraugher has passed away has left me absolutely devastated- an incredibly talented man who played the character of Captain Holt perfectly. His character’s stoic and no-nonsense personality but deep sense of humanity made him a firm favourite.. And to fans of @brooklyn99 he will always be our captain. Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.. RIP Andre Braugher… I hope there's a giant ballooon arch waiting for you up there.. NINE NINE".

Many of Vicky's followers were also huge fans of the actor, as one person commented: "Honestly didn’t no I could be so sad about someone I’ve never met dying", while another added: "His acting was almost like a virtual hug, same with Matthew Perry. Both so young and gone too soon".

A third added: "As Captain Holt once said this makes me sad. I am sad. Rest in peace Sir, your shift is over", while another said: "I could have wrote this word for word Vicky. I'm gutted! The show wouldn't have been the same without him. He was brilliant! Nine-Nine!!"

Andre's acting career was filled with a variety of roles, including parts in popular shows like House, M.D., Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, and the voice of California Governor Woodchuck Coodchuck-Berkwotiz on Netflix's BoJack Horseman.
