My easy Lowe's DIY bathroom upgrade cost me just $50 – it looks as good a year later as the day I installed them | The Sun

A HOME improver has given her bathroom a stylish upgrade for just $50.

The keen DIY-er equipped herself with all she needed for this easy glow-up from Lowe's.

It has stood the test of time too because it is as good now as the day she installed it.

“Inexpensive flooring option. Still looks perfect after a year of use," said Rocky Canyon Rustic (@rockycanyonrustic).

This lady, who has 67,000 followers on TikTok, is not afraid of a challenge.

She likes to keep busy too: “I can’t sit still so I build stuff. DIY you can totally do. Home improvement.”

The focus of her attention in this post was the family bathroom.

This DIY fan demonstrated how a room could be transformed simply by replacing the flooring and nothing else.

The finished result was a stunning makeover.

And it didn't have to break the bank, either: "It only cost $50 to do this bathroom," she said.

First, she took out the toilet: "Installing and uninstalling the toilet was surprisingly easy," she said.

Then, measuring and cutting the tiles, she placed them over the existing hexagonal tiles.

“These are peel-and-stick vinyl tiles that I got from Lowe’s," she said.

"I put them over a painted tile floor. I added extra glue and grout."

She was delighted to report that her upgrade was up to the job: "They look as good today as they did the day they were installed."

Commenters were impressed with her efforts, with one looking on with envy.

“The previous owner of our home put these in the kitchen. You were so smart to add glue and grout. It looks amazing and we wish they would have done it in our place. The tiles slip a lot.”

Another, however, would gladly give her a job: “I would pay you to do this for me. I don’t have the patience for it.”
