Bigfoot expert points out ‘beast’s’ muscles as he delivers verdict to sighting

A Bigfoot sighting which stumped locals may actually just be a "guy in a suit", with experts seemingly convinced it was not the elusive creature.

Instead, the sighting made by Shannon Parker and her husband Stetson Tyler on a train ride from Durango to Silverton on October 8 has been deemed a mere human by an expert who says the hillside sighting is bogus.

Specialist Michael Rugg, curator of the Bigfoot Discovery Museum in California, United States, has rubbished the footage. He says there is a "strong possibility" it is not a sasquatch but a mere man instead.

There were a few signs which Mr Rugg flagged in the video, indicating the beast was no more than a bloke in a costume. It comes as Parker and Tyler allege to have spotted the elusive creature on a romantic trip.

Michael said: "I have to say I looked at the video and [the creature] had a strong possibility of being a guy in a suit. 'It didn’t look right to me. It’s not muscular enough. There's not enough detail to be able to judge it but it wouldn’t surprise me if somebody from [another Bigfoot] museum was out to build up publicity."

His comments come after holidaying couple Shannon and Stetson believe they saw the beast, with the pair sharing a video earlier this month, the Daily Mail reported. Staring out of the train window led the pair gazing on a strange figure in the distance.

Recalling the encounter, Shannon said: "We were looking for elk in the mountains and my husband sees something moving and then can’t really explain it. So he’s like 'Bigfoot!'.

"It was at least six, seven feet or taller. It matched the sage in the mountains so much that he’s like camouflaged when crouching down… if you asked before our trip we would have said maybe [Bigfoot] could be real, but now we’re convinced."

Rugg has maintained Bigfoot is out there, but not in the fields in close proximity to a train. He said: "They are out there. I saw one when I was a child. It was a great big hairy man about two or three feet taller than my parents.

"And the one I saw had a plaid shirt just on its arm. I figured it took it off a clothesline, got it up to the armpit and it wouldn’t go further because it was too small for him, so he left it on his arm. It was quite a sight seeing a bigfoot just standing there with a shirt on one arm."
