During Friday’s BBC Breakfast, Naga and co-host Charlie Stayt chatted with the Eurovision star via video link about his BRIT Award nomination.

Charlie remarked: ‘There’s some serious names. You know, he’s up right up there with some serious credential artists. No disrespect to Sam.’

Oops: The 47-year-old presenter was left red faced again the following day but for different reasons after she had to apologise to a ‘disrespected’ Sam Ryder

A shocked Naga started laughing nervously before stating: ‘Seriously, when you say no disrespect there was no way… Sam, I apologise!’

Trying to explain himself, Charlie continued: ‘Eurovision has not been considered serious music credentials.

‘It’s almost set apart isn’t it? And now, low and behold, Sam comes in and given a totally different thing.’

Sam agreed, saying: ‘It’s treats like a different world so this is so cool, I think, for the future of it.

Oh dear: During Friday’s BBC Breakfast, Naga’s co-host Charlie Stayt told Sam he was up against ‘some serious credential artists’ at the BRIT Awards

‘Like Maneskin for example, they have taken over the world, blazing the trail in the genre of rock music and heavy music.

‘So it’s so cool for the institution of Eurovision as well as the team behind our project.

‘Just so grateful to be there and like you say, the names in this category, Kojey Radical, Rina, Wet Leg, it’s very good musicians.’

He added: ‘So basically, I don’t stand a chance,’ leaving Naga and Charlie in hysterics.

Naga and Charlie are known for their on-screen chemistry and banter, with Naga recently jokingly claiming that Charlie Stayt ‘wears a wig’.

Pulling it back: A shocked Naga started laughing nervously before stating: ‘Seriously, when you say no disrespect there was no way… Sam, I apologise!’
