Spanish broadcaster Jose Antonio Aviles insinuates that the former FC Barcelona player wasn’t technically cheating on the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ hitmaker because of this supposed arrangement.

AceShowbiz –Shakira and Gerard Pique were reportedly in an open relationship before the two split due to the football player’s infidelity. Spanish broadcaster Jose Antonio Aviles insinuated that Gerard wasn’t technically cheating on the “Hips Don’t Lie” hitmaker because of this supposed arrangement.

Jose claimed that the Columbian star and the former FC Barcelona player were in mutually acceptable open relationship for three years before their split. “There is an agreement where ‘you do what you want and I do what I want,’ but in the face of the media we are still a couple,” Jose shared, according to El Nacional de Catalunya.

Jose added that the footballer’s close circle of friends and family knew about the former couple’s agreement and were allegedly surprised by Shakira’s apparent cheating accusation against Gerard. “The footballer’s entourage was surprised by Shakira’s statement,” Jose noted. “He has been annoyed to find out from the press.”

Fellow journalist Pilar Vidal echoed the sentiment. “[Gerard] does not want speculation that the reason for the breakup was infidelity,” he said. “He was surprised by the statement, because the one who takes the initiative is her.”

Last June, Shakira confirmed their separation in an Instagram post. “We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding,” the “Waka Waka” singer wrote at the time. The split came after it was said that Gerard cheated on Shakira with his now-girlfriend model Clara Chia.

Following her split from Gerard, Shakira left Spain and moved to Miami with their two children, Milan and Sasha. The 46-year-old songstress is now reported to be dating Lewis Hamilton. “They’re spending time together and in the ‘getting to know you’ stage,” a source said of the rumored couple. “It’s fun and flirty.”
