I was quoted over £10k for my council house privacy fence – I did it myself and swear by a £15 B&Q buy, it looks great | The Sun

A DIY whizz has revealed that she was quoted over £10,000 to build a privacy fence in her back garden, so decided to do it herself on a budget.

Not only has 25-year-old Celene Francis given her council house a mega makeover, using budget buys from Aldi, B&M, The Range and Home Bargains, but she’s also given her garden a fresh new look too.

Posting on TikTok, where she posts under the username @61thecouncilhouse, Celene documented the process of her privacy fence build.

Costing her just £600 in total, it’s no surprise that Celene was thrilled to have saved around £9,400 on her DIY job.

She said: “POV: You get quoted more than £10,000 for your garden so you do it yourself.”

In the short video we saw Celene get to work on building the fence.
