Holly Willoughby slammed by fans for boasting about £1.1k a night ski trip amid cost of living crisis | The Sun

HOLLY Willoughby has been slammed for boasting about her luxury ski holiday after reporting on hard-up Brits struggling to make ends meet.

This Morning star Holly was criticised for "gloating" about her £1.1K a night mountain retreat amid the cost-of-living crisis.

Despite spending her mornings discussing the devastating cost-of-living crisis, Holly wasn't shy about sharing her extravagant holiday.

In a post to her eight million Instagram followers, she gave fans a glimpse of her "dreamy escape to the snow".

Holly is pictured next to a luxury ski chalet set among the French alps which costs an eye-watering £1.1K a night.

The snap also shows the presenter dressed in a star-themed ski suit, which one fan claimed was worth a whopping £855.

And many of her fans weren't happy to get a glimpse of Holly's fancy festive holiday, with one branding her post a "joke".

"Must be nice not to have to worry about cost of living crisis" said another fuming fan.

A third slammed the star for "reporting on the cost of living on daytime television, but gloating about the lifestyle of the TV rich and famous in a ski suit that costs nearly a grand."

Holly's swanky ski lodge has been dubbed one of the "most luxurious chalets in France" – and it comes complete with a hot tub and a private chef.

The fancy chalet is fitted with huge wooden beams, cosy sofas and roaring log fire, perfect for warming up after a long day on the slopes.

There is also several dining areas over two floors, an extremely plush bedroom and a massive hot tub making full benefit of the views.

But many fans were less than impressed with her decision to share the luxury holiday after spending months discussing the devastating impact of the cost-of-living squeeze.

This Morning has given extensive airtime to the cost-of-living crisis in recent months as Brits struggle with soaring bills.

But the show has come under fire for some of its coverage, including a segment about Christmas advent calendars which showcased some costing a whopping £335.

The show also introduced financial expert David Fishwick to viewers earlier this year – who was slammed as a "budget Martin Lewis" as people questioned his money saving tips.

And while Holly splashes out over £1K per night to retreat into the Alps, one savvy saver revealed how she has had to slash her weekly shop to just £4.

Amid skyrocketing bills, there are numerous ways you can try and get extra financial help to make ends meet.

Under the government's plans, it is expected benefit claimants will get £650, poor pensioners will get £300 and there will be another £150 disability payment.

Around eight million households have already been paid the first part of the current £650 payment – with the second payment due this month.

And households could be in line for up to £400 free cash to help them through the difficult winter spell.

The support comes via the Household Support Fund which was set up by the government.
