This Morning’s Josie Gibson to welcome new host as fans praise ‘perfect’ star

Steve Jones' hosting slot on This Morning has been confirmed, and viewers don't have long to wait to see him in action.

The ITV programme has undergone a bit of a shake-up since Phillip Schofield's departure earlier this year, with a raft of new pairings taking to the sofa.

With Holly Willoughby still away, this week has seen Josie Gibson presenting alongside Rochelle Humes.

But it has been announced that Josie will be joined by T4 star Steve on Wednesday (16 August).

Former Saturdays singer Rochelle shared the news as the show wrapped on Tuesday, leaving fans excited to see how the newbie would fare.

One tweeted that Welsh presenter Steve was "perfect" for the position.

"Steve Jones starts on This Morning TOMORROW wonder what he’ll be like as a host on the show," said another.

This Morning has got off to a good start this week, with viewers loving seeing Josie and Rochelle co-presenting and many saying they'd like to see more of that particular partnership.

“I’m liking Rochelle & Josie together,” one tweeted, as another said the stars were “a good pairing”.

“LOVING Josie and Rochelle together,” said someone else.

“Two young women, so natural and kind, interested in everything. More please.”

“Josie and Rochelle actually work really well together,” said another fan.

There has been more good news for the show as it was revealed that it has made it onto the shortlist in the Daytime category at the National Television Awards.

It will battle it out with The Chase, Loose Women and The Repair Shop for the prize.

Host Alison Hammond is also up for the coveted TV Presenter gong, although Holly failed to make the cut and missed out.

The show’s Martin Lewis has also been shortlisted in the category, with the This Morning stars going up against Bradley Walsh, Claudia Winkleman and Ant and Dec.
