Waterloo Road fans needn’t have any fears about the future of their favourite show, with BBC having ordered another two series of the popular high school drama.
The long-running show, which ran for 10 series’ between 2006 and 2015, returned to screens with brand new episodes earlier this year after vintage seasons proved extremely popular with audiences on iPlayer during Covid lockdowns.
Two series’ of the new and improved Waterloo Road seasons have now aired, with a third already filmed and slated for next year, and BBC has yet again cemented its future by green lighting a further two series.
That’s right. We’ve got not one, not two but three new seasons of Waterloo Road on the way!
The excitement is well and truly real.
‘We’re beyond thrilled with the triumphant return of Waterloo Road, and so thankful to the BBC for committing to the show so fully,’ executive producer and Founder of Rope Ladder Fiction Cameron Roach said upon news of its renewal.

Waterloo Road, which follows the lives of students, teachers and staff at a school in Manchester, is especially popular on iPlayer, where it is in the top three most-watched titles of the year for 16 to 34 years.
EastEnders and Happy Valley are the other two most popular shows with this particular demographic.
Waterloo Road returns to screens next year. The first two series of the revival, in addition to all of the original series’, are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
