Corrie fans spot villain Dean from rival soap as he returns to cobbles

Coronation Street fans were stunned to see a familiar face on the ITV soap on Monday night (August 21).

Eagle-eyed Corrie fans never miss a trick and love spotting characters from other programmes, so it's no surprise they recognized Dean actor Anthony Clark from rival soap Hollyoaks.

Dean Turnbull, the villain and drug dealer last seen bringing chaos to Abi Franklin's door a year ago, is back on the cobbles and time he is terrorising newcomer Cassie Plumber, amid her drug addiction.

But this is in fact actor Anthony Clark’s fourth stint on the cobbles, with him playing Dean twice as well as two other roles.

In 2011, Anthony played a police officer in scenes linked to Jim McDonald's armed robbery.

In the same year he played another police officer, this time attending the scene of a burglary at Janice Battersby's house.

But this isn't the only soap Anthony has appeared in as he starred in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.

He's made not one, not two but three appearances in the show and all as different characters.

Anthony made his debut in 2009 as Levi, a bouncer at The Northern nightclub in Hollyoaks: The Morning After the Night Before

The following year he became Steve, a television producer who broadcaster Duncan Button's fake sixteenth birthday.

And he returned this year as Kenneth, an investor entangled in the affairs of a local youth club, sharing an unexpected moment with John Paul McQueen.
