Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Whitney and Lochan have got the cursed yacht date #LoveIsland."

Another added: "Whitney and Lochan better break the boat date curse."

A third person posted: "Usually the boat date ends in disaster for a couple, please don’t let the curse happen this time."

While a fourth social media user said: "Let’s break this yacht curse you know what you real people need to do and that make Whitney and Lochan winners."

The couple followed in the footsteps of doomed duo Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea in 2019 who broke up just a few weeks after they won the show.

Megan Barton-Hanson and Wes Nelson who enjoyed a passionate relationship on the 2018 series … and a date on a yacht.

Another example was back in 2017 when finalsits Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood went on the date before they went their separate ways after their short-lived reality show Chris and Olivia: Crackin' On.
